Taunton ½ Marathon (Revised course from 2017)
Its very important to know the course when running a half marathon - The Taunton course is well known to many of the runners in the club and anyone training for a ½ Marathon should certainly try this well organised race.
The course can be described as undulating with 1 long slow hill starting at 4 miles up to the village of Oake . From 9½ miles the course is undulating up to Bishops Hull.
The Taunton ½ Marathon cannot be described as a difficult course but those starting off too fast may find the long hill to Oake a little draining and suffer in the second half. Oh! between Oake and Bradford on Tone is a nice steady downhill but don't get caught out - the bends in the road just before Bradford hide a short sharp climb up to the church.
This is also the course for the Taunton Marathon on the same day - runners complete 2 laps.
